The Riviera was located on the Palisades just north of the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee New Jersey.
The famous night club sat around over one thousand people. The roof rolled off the club on nice nights, and the dance floor revolved. The bandstand also revolved, featuring a Latin Band on one side and an American Band on the other. Great Entertainers like Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Durante, Jackie Leonard, Tony Martin, Martin and Lewis, Peggy Lee, Vic Damone, Eddie Fisher and Sammy Davis Jr. with the Will Masten Trio all worked here. My father was the security guard there for many years and that is why I painted this picture. 24″ x 36″ oil on canvas.
Prints are available of Bill Miller’s Riviera. The unframed prints on canvas 8”x12” (image size) are $100.00 plus postage and handling.
